2005 Northwest Direct Seed Cropping Systems Conference & Trade Show

To be Held in Spokane Valley, WA, January 13 & 14


 

The 8th Annual Northwest Direct Seed Cropping Systems Conference will be held January 13 & 14, 2005, at the Mirabeau Park Hotel and Convention Center in Spokane Valley, Washington.

This event attracts growers from a four-state area including Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Over four hundred participants are expected this year.

The 2 day conference includes over 20 speakers, general and concurrent sessions, an indoor and outdoor tradeshow, two luncheons, and a social hour.

This year's event, themed "Challenges, Solutions, Successes" will include program topics such as emerging issues, international systems, soil stewardship and equipment and farming systems technology.

Keynote speakers include Dirceu Gassen, Technical Manager of the No-till Farmers Cooperative in Brazil and Dr. Mekhlis Suleimenov, Assistant Regional Coordinator for the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA)-CAC Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The conference begins at 10 a.m. Thursday and concludes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

The indoor-outdoor trade show will include exhibit booths for Northwest agribusinesses and posters prepared by researchers.

Registration is $90 in advance and $100 on site. Registration includes a 2005 proceedings CD, conference sessions, Thursday and Friday lunch and continental breakfast, refreshment breaks, and Thursday Social.

The annual conference is sponsored as a service to Northwest growers by: STEEP (Solutions to Economic and Environmental Problems) program of the three land grant universities; Washington State University, Oregon State University, University of Idaho and the Agricultural Research Service; and the Pacific Northwest Direct Seed Association.
